Pride or Prejudice?
Nyah Beauford is at least one of those. Raised with a silver spoon in her mouth, she’s not used to not getting what she wants, and she for sure isn’t used to people speaking to her the way this rude furniture designer just did.
Shai Jacobs is both proud and prejudice, against everything that Nyah stands for. But then again, she’s cute and she intrigues him. She’s also willing to admit her faults and take a step in the right direction. Is love enough to elevate them to common ground?

Elevate Me edition by AshleyNicole Literature Fiction eBooks

Ashley Nicole has me in my feelings with her latest. Emotional roller-coaster to a perfect finish. Shai aka I don't take no mess versus Nyah aka the pretty snob. When their worlds collide...baby hold onto your seat. Shai a furniture designer and owner of trendy furniture store meets Nyah the "unemployed pretty princess" while she is shopping with her cousin. Sparks fly when Nyah makes a comment that set Shai on fire. Shai gives Nyah a taste of her own medicine and a connection is made.

When I say I love how these two worlds and characters collide. How Ashley Nicole pulls at your heart strings on this project. How she makes you laugh at quirky times in this book. They way she makes you want to highlight a whole chapter in the book because you had to read it three times because the dynamics of the scene was on point. Girl bye..

My only critique in the book was their were a few typos but as a whole this book was awesome. This is Ashley Nicole sixth published books and you get to see her growth in this one. Awesome job Ashley Nicole...get up and take a bow.

Elevate Me edition by AshleyNicole Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I loved Shai. He was a no nonsense, strong man. He was what Nyah needed. I love Ashley Nicole's writing and her story telling is on point. She addresses different issues that we tend to forget about or overlook and weave them into thought provoking stories.
A very entertaining story. This is one of my favorite books by AshleyNicole. I loved Shai and Nyah. Nyah was so naive about life due to being born with a silver spoon. Her naivete made her character extremely funny at times. Shai was the perfect person to enlighten her on the reality of real life. This is a very well written book that will keep you entertained from start to finish. Good job Ashley. Looking forward to your next project.
Opposits attract is there of Elevate me. Nyah is naive and priviledge. Shai is a World wise and predjudiced aguanta the wealthy. They are atrracted to each other anyway. She's learning nothing is as she was taught and respect and wealth are not entertwined. He is learning forgiveness. They are learning love is not a perfect thing but worth the fight.
A done to earth real World lovestory. Lol read. A recommend read.
I chose the rating I did because the book was something totally unexpected, I enjoyed it from the very beginning to the end. Shai was priceless ,I loved his personality and how he dealt with Nyah, I laughed , cried and got angry at times reading the book . I have read just about all this author's books and this was defiantly my favorite
The relationship between Shai and his dad was beautiful, Nyah parents were idiots and her girlfriends were down right idiots and mean girls. Loved Bridget , she was what family is all about. I was very happy Shai forgave his mom and the relationship he had with his siblings in the end. I would definitely recommend to family and friends
I really wanted to give this book a 5 star rating because the story was actually beautiful. I just had an issue with the Shai treated Nya. In as much as she had her hang ups, he talked down at her and she sort of had to constantly beg for his approval. She even had to ask him to marry her, even if he had the ring. She was there for him more than he was there for him.

Also, the fact that she almost married Alcott indicates that she hadn't matured enough and dashing out at the last minute was irresponsible. She should have made her stand known. She had to keep fighting for him while he stood back and watched. That didn't sit well with me.
How many times is this author going to keep hitting them out of the ballpark. Book , after book, after book. WHEW !! AshleyNicole delivers us another one of her amazing storytelling of black romance.

In "Elevate Me" she brings us Nyah and Shai's love journey. Nyah's character is your typical rich society girl. Self-absorbed, spoiled and has no qualms with using the tool of manipulation to benefit her desires.

Shai is a successful furniture designer.
He is strong willed, focused and a thoughtful individual.
His life experiences are in contrast to Nyah's limited and somewhat naive life experiences.

It's their differences that peek their curiosity and allow them to explore the possibility of something new.

"Elevate Me" is fueled with self-awareness for both characters. Their developing relationship allows them to recognize their own deficiencies within themselves. Deficiencies that have plagued their own personal growth with their own family members.
As their relationship continues to develop, Nyah is able to open Shai heart to forgive and to love again.
Shai is able to help Nyah find her strength. Strength to stand her ground and become the women she was meant to be.

I loved these two characters. Their story was filled with humor (the kind that makes you laugh out loud), tears of joy and sadness, and finally acceptance.
In the words of e.e. cummings, "It takes courage to grow up and turn out to be who you really are."

Please read !! You won't be disappointed.
As usual, Ashley tells another wonderful story - this time Nyah and Shai. I just loved their names; let's start with that. This author always comes up with the most unique names for her characters and the characters live up to that uniqueness.

There were times I just wanted to choke the life out of Nyah. She was a huge spoiled brat - spoiled by both her father and Shai. Most times I couldn't understand why Shai put up with her mess. But I loved that her cousin never put up with her crap and always kept it real. After spending time with both characters, the reader learns what shaped they way there were. Towards the end of the book, Nyah was more likeable but I still wanted to kick her butt.

If you are not following this author, please get on her bandwagon. Ashley Nicole is going places!!!
